Asus has announced the launch of four new gaming laptops in India, with two each under two separate portfolios. The new launches include two SKUs in the TUF Gaming range, and two more in the ROG Zephyrus portfolio. While the TUF Gaming laptops will be available almost immediately, the Zephyrus range will be up for sales later in the year – by September, to be specific. The new laptops are based on 11th gen Intel Core processors and new Nvidia RTX 3 series GPU, with the Asus ROG Zephyrus S17 featuring a range topping configuration of the Intel Core i9-11900H CPU and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 GPU.
Asus TUF Gaming F15, F17: price and availability
The Asus TUF Gaming F15 is priced at Rs 1,04,990, while the TUF F17 is the most affordable of the new bunch with a Rs 92,990 price tag. The TUF F15 will be the first of the lot to be available, and will sell from June 11. The TUF F17, meanwhile, will sell from June 14.
ROG Zephyrus M16, S17: price and availability
The ROG Zephyrus M16 will be priced onward of Rs 1,44,990, while the range-topping Zephyrus S17 will cost a whopping Rs 2,99,990. Both the laptops will be available some time between July and September this year, but a more specific availability date is yet to be announced.
TUF Gaming F15, F17: specifications
The Asus TUF Gaming F15 will give users to choose among three Intel 11th gen processors – a base Core i5-11400H, a mid-range Core i7-11800H and and a range-topping Core i9-11900H. The laptop features 16GB DDR4-3200 SDRAM by default across all CPUs, which can be expanded to 32GB. The laptops will come with up to 1TB PCIe Gen3 X4 SSD for storage, and will have two storage slots for post-purchase expansion.
For graphics on the TUF F15, buyers can choose among the RTX 3050 with 4GB GDDR6 memory, RTX 3050Ti with 4GB GDDR6 memory and the RTX 3060 with 6GB GDDR6 memory. The laptop gets a 15.6-inch full HD display with 144Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time, a chiclet-style RGB keyboard with number pad, a 720p webcam, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless connectivity, one Thunderbolt 4, three USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, one Ethernet, one HDMI 2.0b and one 3.5mm audio combo port for wired connectivity. It weighs 2.3kg and features a 90Whr Li-Po battery inside.
The TUF Gaming 17, meanwhile, offers only the Core i5 and Core i7 processors, and up to RTX 3050Ti GPUs. It gets a 17.3-inch full HD display with 144Hz refresh rate, and weighs 2.6kg. All other specifications remain the same as the TUF F15.
Asus ROG Zephyrus M16: specifications
Starting with the ROG Zephyrus M16, the laptop features choices for either the Core i7 CPU or the Core i9 CPU used in the TUF F15. It loses the base RTX 3050 as a GPU option, and instead adds an RTX 3070 as its top SKU, with 8GB GDDR6 memory. Memory options remain the same as the TUF F15, but the Zephyrus M15 can be configured with up to 2TB SSDs. The display features a 16-inch, 16:10, Pantone validated panel, offering full HD+ resolution and 144Hz refresh rate on the RTX 3050Ti variant, and 2K+ resolution and 165Hz refresh rate on other models.
The keyboard features single-zone RGB lighting control, and in terms of wired connectivity, Asus has added one HDMI 2.0b port, two USB-A 3.2 ports, one USB-C 3.2 port with DisplayPort and USB PD support (the latter meant for USB charging through eligible chargers), and a dedicated USB-C port for Thunderbolt 4, DisplayPort and USB PD. Wireless connectivity, audio and battery specs remain the same, with the Zephyrus weighing in at 1.9kg.
Asus ROG Zephyrus S17: specifications
The Asus ROG Zephyrus S17, meanwhile, features only the Intel Core i9-11900H CPU, and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 GPU with 16GB GDDR6 memory. It comes with 16GB DDR4-3200 memory, but is user-upgradable up to 48GB. The storage specs start with 512GB PCIe Gen 3 x4, and goes up to 2TB company configured – with three storage slots for post-purchase upgrades.
Buyers can also choose between two 17.3-inch displays – a 4K panel with 120Hz refresh rate, 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage and Pantone validation, and a Quad HD (2K) panel with 165Hz refresh rate, 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, Nvidia G-Sync enabled and Pantone validation. The keyboard is an optical mechanical one for better gaming performance, features per-key configurable RGB lighting.
Connectivity options remain the same, but the Zephyrus S17 gets an extra USB-A port and a full-size SD card slot (instead of the M16’s microSD slot). It gets the same battery as the M16, and weighs 2.6kg.
